Heskins H3506 / H3505 Surface Primer for Anti-Slip Tape on Porous Floors
Heskins Surface Primer is an application ancillary used to seal porous surfaces before self-adhesive anti-slip tape, anti-slip stair treads or floor marking tape are fitted. Heskins tapes bond with a pressure-sensitive adhesive rather than mechanical fixing, so they need a stable substrate. On porous materials such as wood, concrete, stone and marble, moisture can migrate through the surface and lift the tape over time. Priming creates a sealed, stable layer that gives the adhesive a sound surface to bond to and increases the lifespan of the installation.
The primer is brushed on like paint, only over the area where the tape or treads will be applied. It dries in approximately 10 to 30 minutes depending on application temperature and surface type, after which the tape can be applied in the normal way: peel the release liner, press down with a seam roller and finish the edges with Heskins edge fix. Two formulas are available: H3506 and H3505, a water-based aqueous primer. It works on rough and smooth surfaces and is compatible with the full Heskins anti-slip and marking tape range.
