Wolfram Industrie WTh30 Thoriated Tungsten Electrode 2.4 x 175 mm (Violet, pack of 10)
WTh30 is the 3% thoriated grade of Wolfram's WTh family. Thoriated tungsten is used wherever a stable electron exit is essential; the higher the oxide content, the more ignitable compared with pure tungsten. Wolfram is the only manufacturer in Europe approved to produce tungsten-thorium.
Wolfram Industrie Premium Line electrodes are 100% precision manufactured in Germany from the highest-purity base material with a homogeneous structure and evenly distributed oxides. Each electrode is colour-coded, professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use, packed in a sturdy hard case with individual electrode compartments and a product label. Manufacturing is certified to ISO 9001.
Safety note: Wolfram notes that WTh electrodes are slightly radioactive: vapours or fine dust produced during welding or while resharpening the tip can be harmful to health, so they must be handled with special caution and the right safety measures (vacuum extraction) used. Shop characteristic: sealed radioactive source in compliance with safety regulations.
