Wolfram Industrie TRICONSTANT WHG3 Resistance / Spot Welding Electrode
TRICONSTANT is Wolfram Industrie's resistance welding electrode (WHG3): made of tungsten and copper and back-cast with tungsten-copper. It combines hardness, elasticity, heat and electrical conductivity for the most economical mix of long service life, improved performance, better quality and greater efficiency in spot welding.
Resistance welding presses two or more metal parts (usually sheet metal) between two opposing electrodes under high pressure; the current generates heat at the point of highest resistance, melting and joining the parts. This demands high hardness and resistance, high electrical and thermal conductivity, high heat resistance and low erosion and adhesion tendency.
